Creating a rooftop with style
In 2019, WoodBlocX Landscaping was contacted by a private commercial client to transform a large rooftop terrace for an office building in Soho, London.
After originally specifying GRP fibreglass planters, the client decided WoodBlocX offered a more natural look for the roof garden. Twinned with easy layer-by-layer installation, this made our WoodBlocX timber system the perfect choice!
Built in 2 phases straight on top of the roof decking, a suitable liner with drainage medium was installed to accommodate for rainfall.
Modular planters by design
Over 30 raised timber planters were built in a range of widths and lengths to create an interesting and varied roof top design.
With seating areas dotted amongst the planters, the rooftop has become a luxury chill out space for the lucky office team below.
Access to the roof top was an important consideration for this project, however, being a modular timber system, WoodBlocX components were simply carried up to the build location.
